About Us

Alternative Healthcare Education.com was the vision of Dr. Teresa L. Marshall, Dr. Paula E. Prybylla and Melanie Esser, Office Manager at a chiropractic clinic.

Our motto is “Pearls of Wisdom” which can be applied to both practitioners and the general public alike.

The state of Minnesota enacted a law change in 2006 requiring all chiropractors certified in acupuncture to have two continuing education credits each year in acupuncture. Also in 2006, all continuing education credits in Minnesota could be done on line.

This law change prompted Dr. Marshall and Dr. Prybylla, who both are certified in acupuncture and use acupuncture in their practices daily, to look at what information was currently available on-line regarding acupuncture continuing education credits.  Much to their dismay, there was not a great deal of good practical information available.  Thus the vision became a reality.  PTM of Minnesota was the name given to the corporation formed by Dr. Paula, Dr. Teresa and Melanie. Work began on developing courses that provide practical content doctors can use in their daily practice, and also meet the requirements of continuing education.

Once work began on the continuing education courses, discussion began regarding how valuable these topics would be to the general public.  Many of Dr. Teresa’s and Dr. Paula’s patients do not have the knowledge about acupuncture, massage, chiropractic, etc., to make informed choices about the alternative health care options available to them.  Thus, the addition of the public side of the web site.  Our goal is to provide valuable information for the general public.  Most of the topics on this website cover areas that the doctors review and discuss with their patients everyday.

We will continue to add topics of interest throughout the development of our website.  These topics will come from those who visit our website as well as information we feel is of interest.
